Domus Medica-or the Alliance of European Medical Organizations (EMOs) is a collaboration platform created with an aim to foster and improve the cooperation between different medical organizations in the European region.

It conststs of AEMH (European Association of Senior Hospital Physicians), CEOM (Conférence Européenne des Ordres des Médecins), CPME (Standing Committee of European Doctors), EANA (European working group of practitioners and specialists in free practice), FEMS (European Federation of Salaried Doctors), EJD (Permanent Working Group of European Junior Doctors), UEMO (The European Union of General Practitioners), UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) and EMSA as the student representative for Europe.

The main activities of this platform are directed towards better (joined) representation of involved members in front of European institutions, joined policy making and advocacy and of providing information about European medical education and healthcare to healthcare stakeholders (mainly being doctors and students).

European Association of Senior Hospital Physicians

The AEMH is a professional association of and for European hospital physicians, who have final responsibility for the patients, with the primary goal to improve all aspects of hospital life in Europe.

The AEMH provides a European platform for hospital physicians, which develops and maintains a spirit of cooperation and communication among its national member delegations, improving the understanding of the different health systems. It encourages the exchange of ideas and experiences and promotes discussion among doctors, patients and politicians with the major objective of promoting health and improving patient safety.

The AEMH assembles groups of different specialists promoting hospital management based on quality and safety, possessing valuable expertise in this field.

Conférence Européenne des Ordres des Médecins

The purpose of the CEOM is to promote within the European Union and the European Free Trade Association the practice of high quality medicine respectful of patients’ needs. 

To this end, the CEOM develops cooperation between its Participating organisations and lends support to their action by developing quality standards and common positions relating to:medical ethics and professional conduct, free movement of healthcare professionals, medical demography, medical regulation, professional training of physicians, and public health issues related to these subjects.

Standing Committee of European Doctors

The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) aims to promote the highest standards of medical training and medical practice in order to achieve the highest quality of health care for all patients in Europe. CPME is also concerned with the promotion of public health, the relationship between patients and doctors and the free movement of doctors within the European Union.

CPME represents the National Medical Associations of 27 countries in Europe and works closely with the National Medical Associations of countries that have applied for EU membership as well as specialized European medical associations.

  


 

European workingroup of practitioners and specialists in free practice

It is the objective of the E.A.N.A to thoroughly exchange experience on the structures of the individual healthcare and social systems and to exchange information on current developments in health and social policy in the various countries. At the same time, new forms of ambulatory medical care, as for instance, integrated care, different forms of cooperation in medical practice and cooperation with other health professions are being explored and developed.

EMSA seeks to improve the health and quality of care of the citizens of Europe, by acting as a conduit for increased interaction and knowledge transfer between all stakeholders in the fields of Medical Education, Medical Ethics and Culture, Medical Science, Publica Health and European Integration

European Union of Medical Specialists 

The UEMS is a non-governmental organisation representing national associations of medical specialists in the European Union and in associated countries. With a current membership of 35 countries and operating through 37 specialists sections and European boards, the UEMS brings together approximately 1.4 million medical specialists in Europe. With the support of its membership, the UEMS is committed to the promotion of free movement of European medical specialists while ensuring the highest quality of medical care for European citizens.
