In the Teddy Bear Hospital consultations take place between special Teddy Bear Doctors and children, where the "sick" teddy bear can be treated. The aim is to help young children overcome their "white coat anxiety" in going and talking to the doctor.

This is a community-based project run by medical students and has benefited thousands of primary school children, in the past few years. The highlight is a consultation between special Teddy Bear Doctors (clinical medical students) and the child, where the “sick” teddy can be treated. The ultimate aim is to help young children overcome their “White Coat Anxiety” in going and talking to the doctor.

EMSA provides all material, blueprints and information needed for organising a Teddy Bear Hospital and provides contacts necessary for the legalities of such a project and directs members towards their National Standards for Healthy Eating in Schools and local councils who can provide the mandatory training to the students taking part.
